Which means that Chris G and Sally will only be doing one month (August) in 2021, as are Val and Chantal only doing the month of September. The new pair returning for January 2021 are Sue and Penny and we have all moved forward one month as on the list above, with, as you can see, the replacement of Elizabeth who is sadly moving to Marshfield.

For those new to the rota, we clean the brasses, sweep the floor and generally dust and polish, in the vestry too please. In addition we arrange flowers in the 2 brass vases on the altar, a vase on the end of the box in front of the pulpit and a small arrangement on the window sill in the porch. The important thing is to water the flowers mid week and remove any dead ones. As we only have a service every 2 weeks (on 2nd and 4th Sundays) it is all too easy to forget this and dead flowers are not pretty for any passing visitors. If the linen altar cloth is dirty would you be kind enough to take it home and launder it if you are on duty and change the altar frontals when necessary, they live in the box in front of the pulpit – a list of which colour to use when is in the inf. book on the table by the entrance door & inside the vestry cupboard.

No flowers during Lent but there should be flowers again for Easter Sunday and it is lovely to have an arrangement on the box and in the porch window for Mothering Sunday, assuming we can have a service. The flowers should then be removed again (take them home). We would love those who like flower arranging to do extra arrangements around the church for Easter Sunday, Harvest Festival, the Gardens Open weekend and for the Carol Service/Christmas please. All dependant on the virus situation.

We usually get together in January to discuss relevant dates in the year to come, which we obviously cannot do because of COVID. With regards to the Madrigals we evidently cannot do anything in March so having spoken to them there is a possibility we may fix a date for the summer. We would hope we can hold Gardens Open and that would be June 12 and 13 in 2021. We will just have to see how things go!

Lent 2021 17 February (Ash Wednesday) to Good Friday 2 April 2021
Gardens Open 12/13 June 2021
Harvest Festival ?
